New Investment Options in the World
According to a note published by Bloomberg News, the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China (the so-called BRIC nations) are slowing for many reasons, including aging and shrinking labor pools. There are fewer youths keeping the factories active and more pensioners to support in those markets, the article says. In this context global growth will peak to 4.3% this decade and fall to 3.9% in 2020. James O’Neill, Goldman Sachs Asset Management chairman (creator of the BRIC concept) considers that other emergent economies may now be better investments, especially Mexico, Egypt, Turkey and Indonesia: “These four countries could be in the top 10 contributors to global GDP this decade, adding well over $2 trillion. With large young populations, these countries could become powerful growth stories.”
