Yahoo: Resume Padding Scandal
Yahoo Chief Executive Officer Scott Thompson was caught padding its resume. In several published biographical statements (including the official information presented in Yahoo site) he has asserted that he holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science from Stonehill College, a selective catholic college located near Boston, Massachusetts. Third Point Investors discovered that his degree is actually only in accounting and is asking his removal. Yahoo has said that this inaccuracy was only an “inadvertent error”.

Disney Shares Reach All-Time High
On Tuesday Walt Disney Company reported strong earnings and its shares passed their all-time high. Despite the problems with John Carter, the film that lost the company US $200 million, Disney reported earnings for the first three months of the year that surged 18% versus 2011. The Avengers is smashing box-office records around the world and maybe it will be Disney’s highest-earning film ever. The company is optimistic about its future given the strength of its core brands, including ESPN, Pixar, Disney, Marvel and ABC.

Facebook’s Premium Ads Price Rise
Two recent studies have found that pricing for Facebook’s premium advertisements continues to rise. A report to be released by Marin Software, a digital marketing platform, showed a 26% increase over the last year in the cost per click for “premium” ads formats, including sponsored stories. On the other hand, the report also showed that the cost per click for “standard” ads (that represents about 75% of Facebook’s advertising revenues) fell 26% over the past year. The company is trying to convince potential investors that its business is worth up to US $96 billion for its IPO.

Where is Eduardo Saverin?
As we know Eduardo Saverin is Facebook’s cofounder and had a troubled relationship with Mark Zuckerberg. He holds an estimated 2% of the company’s shares and lives in Singapore where he is now a local celebrity. Forbes magazine has ranked him as the 643th richest person. Dustin Moskowitz and Chris Hughes, the other cofounders are also billionaires with their own businesses. Of the four cofounders Zuckerberg is the only who stays with the company.
